To help providers reduce their bad debt, HIMSS has assembled a Revenue Cycle Improvement Task Force. The group will analyze a number of case studies on patient financial experiences to determine the right solutions for this growing issue in healthcare.
Because more consumers expect cost transparency, experts believe providers should prioritize patient experience to improve their revenue cycle. It’s estimated that by 2019, write-offs will exceed $189 billion, making viable solutions more imperative than ever.
The task force hopes to create a better demonstration of the ideal billing experience by pinpointing specific problems.
